We met Holly Paladin through Gabby St. Clair and she was easy to fall in love with, especially when she thought she only had a year to live. This character is curious, intelligent, and just fun to watch. Her sidekick, Jamie, adds so spunk as well.This story picks up shortly after book 4 ends. Holly finds herself going on a blind date that in true "Holly" fashion goes south quickly. One of the things I like about Christy Barritt's writing is she gets the action going early in the book and keeps it going throughout the story. This book is no exception!
I love Chase and not to give too much away I'll keep it at I love Chase, despite his issues I love him!
You could probably read this as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading this series from the opening book to the current. You will truly appreciate the characters and how they have developed and matured through the series.

I love another one of her mysteries. It does have you wondering who and why things happen. I love Chase and Holly together! Looking forward to the next book to see how things will happen with the new characters and where this is headed without giving anything away
Holly Anna is up to her eyeballs in another mystery after her recent split with Chase. This one brings a new man into her life and a new stalker. Like usual, there are twists and turns around every page. And I can't wait until the next book is out.
I never would have guessed who dunnit. I was surprised by it all, with even a sort-of cliffhanger at the end! I highly recommend this book, but as with many of Christy Barrett's books, it's best to read in order.
Mistakes and funerals are just plain creepy but when read bodies keep turning up they can seem quite terrifying.
But that doesn't change the attraction of a certain funeral business owner. Nor the suspicions surrounding him. Add a stranger claiming to be a relative dropping in, and the suspects mount.
My favorite Holly mystery yet!
She faces relationships just like we do, but happens to fall into a investigation and her ex happens to be lead on the case. She's prone to impulsive decisions with "help everyone, see the best in people lifestyle" and it gets her into a world of trouble.
I was not to happy about the small detail of one character being left unfinished at the end so I will be waiting until the next mystery.
I knew who the bad guy(s) were at one of Holly's dates. It was nice to see my theory played out.
Great read even though sometimes I wanted to scream at Holly for the choices she made.
This was an enjoyable read.
I love the twists, the turns and all the red herrings that a good cozy mystery gives you.
Holly and Jaime are interesting characters, best friends who like to solve crimes.
You need to read the book to find out what happened. you will not be disappointed
I really enjoyed the book. The only reason I didn't give it a 5, was because there is one character that is missing, but we are never told that she was found...only that "she suddenly regained consciousness." and she talked to the police. I thought I had missed something and searched the book to see when the character was found or if we knew she was unconscious, but apparently those details were left out. I think that is the first time that has happened with this author's books. Other than that, it was a great story!
