Arbitrary Nonsense is a surreal odyssey of the mind. A dark comedy in search of truth in an absurd universe. A dystopian fable of a clockwork future. A story of mythos vs logos, giants & heroes, love & revolution, misfit anarchists & the great machine. They say you can never step in the same river twice, and the same goes for skinny-dipping in the collective unconscious. It is alive. And for the dreamers and the dreamed, nothing is more dangerous...
Arbitrary Nonsense eBook D A Wright
An impressive first novel by a young writer. A little fantasy, a little philosophy, the story forks and bends and folds back on itself in surprising ways.Although the novel wrestles with heady concepts, it is anchored by the kind of understanding of character, adolescence and friendship that most enduring sci-fi/fantasy works require in order to transcend genre tropes. Hoping the the publisher does an audio version so I can revisit it again.

Arbitrary Nonsense eBook D A Wright Reviews
I really REALLY enjoyed this novel. It takes you through a wonderfully built world that delves deep into 'hitchhikers guide' vibe without making you think anything of it. well layered and a lot of fun to read, i have and will continue to suggest this to friends.
D. A. Wright's Arbitrary Nonsense (Pendulum Rift) is a veritable romp through the psyche of our current culture or lack thereof. It is a page-turner and future classic. If you like to read, this book is for you. As many reviewers have commented, the story may be many things to many people so you just have to read it for yourself.
A great departure from your average cookie-cutter adventure story. Mind-bending and fulfilling. I love the way D. A. Wright immerses you in the world he's masterfully created and allows you to get to know the characters and their foibles. His writing is crisp and his voice is refreshingly authentic. Arbitrary Nonsense is a delightful blend of danger, humor and philosophy, with a touch of love story thrown in. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The outer limits of the imagination.
The unintelligible ravings of a lost soul driven to madness, salvaged only by a hazy nostalgia of events that once were or always were or could have somehow been.
When you read it you WILL question your very existence and the nature of reality. And coffee. Yeah that’s right you’re going to question the very nature of coffee, and probably a whole lot of other things you never thought you would question. All the scenes and characters and narrative threads somehow mesh chaotically in a very arbitrarily nonsensical way, as the title would suggest.
Great fun and big laughs! Daydream … daydream … ☆
This is a truly fantastic book. The author is well versed in absurdity and crafts a very compelling and unique story. I highly recommend Arbitrary Nonsense.
It's difficult to elaborate on my favorite elements because much of the pleasure comes from the unpredictable paths the characters take and the situations they find themselves in when they arrive...and I don't want to ruin this with spoilers! The journey is greatly enhanced by Wright's masterful adaptation of voice and dialogue as the characters find themselves in strange places and times (or housing foreign souls!).
Arbitrary Nonsense immerses us in another dimension where graveness dances with absurdity. We are taken from heaven to hell and travel through ashen deserts to the futuristic city of the Republic. D.A. Wright keeps us on the edge of reality questioning consciousness and society as we accept it. The novel brings us into the unique mind of the writer and throws us into a spectacular conclusion that will not be forgotten.
This novel is for people who read to enlighten their perspective of the universe. Think Alice in Wonderland meets 1984. If you are a fan of Vonnegut, Monty Python, PK Dick, Orwell, Bradbury, Huxley, Dante, and Plato, you will love this book. Highly recommended read that will leave you questioning you own existence.
Arbitrary Nonsense is the perfect description of this book. It jumps around like it's actually excerpts from half a dozen different books & never does settle into one coherent story. It was such a jumbled mess I really couldn't wade through the entire thing. I rarely give up on a book (and this one is not badly written from a technical standpoint), but it wasn't something I found worth reading.
